About Us

House of Manners was born out of a lifelong dream to create quality streetwear with personality. Founded in Los Angeles in 2023, the name House of Manners was chosen to stay true to one of the core values of the brand, respect for oneself and for others. House of Manners is also an extension of the founder’s last name, Hom, as a way to honor Asian heritage, culture and fashion. The logo depicting two hands pressed together represents the value of staying humble, grateful and thankful for life’s experiences.

As an Asian American woman, who grew up as one of the only Asian students in my school, I struggled with my identity. It didn’t help that throughout my life, I have been called “exotic-looking” due to my half-Chinese, half-Caucasian features. I would be assured it was a compliment, but it actually just made me feel like an object.

When creating my streetwear brand, I wanted to reach those who felt similarly. Or maybe they didn’t feel the exact same, but they had their own life experiences that made them feel different from the norm in their society. My goal was to create a community that could transcend location, uniting those from anywhere in the world and welcoming them into the House I have created.
